My June 2018 Goals

I'm a little late again with this post, I'd written my goals but I just forgot to post them on here. May was a rather hectic month with weddings, hen parties and work but I've managed to complete a couple of goals and set myself some new ones for June. Who else is setting themselves some summer goals?

Goal one - start a gratitude journal
Now I have to admit this hasn't been particularly easy. I have managed to write something most days but I often forget at the end of the day and end up writing it a day or so late, which isn't ideal and probably doesn't always 100% reflect how I was feeling. It's a work in progress which I'm going to continue with; as with everything the more I practice it the more it will become habit and I'll get better in connecting with my thoughts. If you have any advice of keeping a gratitude journal it would be greatly appreciated.

Goal two - smash my spin class
YES! I've taught 5 classes since I set myself the goal and I have absolutely loved it! I've always loved going to spin classes but there's something so much more satisfying when you're teaching a class. I've had some newbies join the class and they've kept coming back which is always such a compliment. I've also had regulars really push themselves that extra mile each week. I was so nervous at first but after I got into the swing of things I forgot my nerves and just enjoyed the ride! Unfortunately, I won't be teaching anymore at the moment as I have a new job (see below for more deets) but I'm hoping I can pick some classes up again soon.

I've also managed to finally hit the goal I set myself back in March to book a holiday! Due to me and the boy both having a very hectic summer with hen parties, weddings and football fixtures we've decided to stay in the UK. We're going to head down to Cornwall for a week in July. We've both been but not for several years and can't wait to get exploring! Any recommendations just drop me a message!

June's Goals

Start my new job!
I'm so excited to announce that I have a new job! I'm not leaving the health and fitness industry, don't worry. I've decided that as the industry is still very new to me that working full-time in a gym would be much more beneficial for me at the moment. I've been lucky enough to secure a Personal Trainer position at a David Lloyd gym in Peterborough. From mid June I'll be based there full-time and I can't wait to start working with a team. It will mean having to give up my clients who I train outside of the gym, which is bitter sweet, as I've loved being able to work with each one of them.
My main goal will be to get settled in, learn and absorb as much as I can and hopefully start to build a client base. I'm so looking forward to this next adventure, wish me luck!

Be better at mobility work
Mobility work has been lacking in my training recently and I've noticed a few niggles here and there so I'm going to incorporate more into my daily routine. By increasing my mobility work I should also notice a different in my training and make improvements on those big compound movements like deadlifts. Mobility is also important for so many other daily functions and a lack of it can have quite a severe impact later on in life so I best get to it!

Here's to another busy and productive month ahead!
