My Goals for 2018

It's that time of year again where we're setting new goals and thinking about the year ahead. Last year I set myself goals to work towards for the whole year but I'm going to do it a little different this year. As some of you know, I'm starting a whole new career in the fitness industry - you can check out my blog here for an update - and for me, short term goals are the way forward this year.

Each month I'm going to set myself a few goals to aim to achieve. Those that need a little more work, I'll aim to keep them going into the next month. I won't be sticking to just fitness ones, but also focusing on the things I love to do like travelling, cooking and continuing with my education.

January is always one of those difficult months; it's cold, dark and often very wet. We also tend to set ourselves all these resolutions that are difficult to stick to and by the end of the month we often find ourselves lacking in motivation and asking ourselves, why did I bother? So why not have a go at a few small achievable goals this month and see what results you get? Here's mine if you need a little inspiration.

Kick start my new career
I'll be starting my new career at the 24/7 gym in Wisbech next week as a Personal Trainer and I'm hoping to get involved in teaching some classes too. I can't wait to get stuck in and this month is going to be all about knuckling down and starting my new business, Chin Up Charles Fitness. If you're wanting to start your new year off with a little fitness just drop me a message.

Sign up for a new challenge
Last year I completed a marathon so I want to find myself a new physical challenge. I've not decided on what yet but maybe a tough mudder or another run. Any suggestions?

Write myself a training plan
At the end of last year I got back into weight training and then life happened, I moved out of London, went on holiday and Christmas got in the way so my own training has fallen off track. This month I'm going to create my own 12 week program to get back on track and start monitoring my progress. I'll be sharing regular updates on my Instagram page so don't forget to stay tuned.

I'd love to hear what your goals are this month so don't forget to leave me a comment or don't hesitate to get in touch if you need any help. Let's beat those January blues together!
