My September Adventures in London

So post number nine has come around and Autumn is finally upon us. September has seen the last of the summer days with the nights drawing in and the leaves beginning to fall. I love this time of year when the fluffy socks come out and the cosy nights in start but I haven't quite become a hermit yet and have had a few new adventures.

To mark the end of summer at work we had a little party down at Brixton Beach Rooftop. In true English fashion the weather wasn't at its finest so we camped out in one of our own private huts. That being said we had an awesome night with plenty of food and drink. There's loads of choice when it comes to street food but there was no competition when it came to Mac to the Future. Their mac and cheese was up there in my top 3 ever! Myself and a friend were torn between the deep fried mac 'n' cheese balls and the standard dish with added pancetta, so went for both and shared! As you can tell from the pictures, it was pretty epic!

My next new place to visit had been in the diary for a while and it was great to catch up with friends I hadn't seen in a while. We all lead such busy lives it's hard to find the time for each other sometimes. We headed to Cinnamon Kitchen in Liverpool Street, they offer a pretty decent meal deal if you order before 6:30pm. I opted for the spicy beef spring rolls to start followed by seared hake with yellow lentils. I was feeling rather full but couldn't sit by and watch everyone else have dessert so went for a lighter option of sorbet. It was in fact the best part of the meal! As far as Indian food goes it was nice but I have had better so not sure I'll be heading back in a hurry.

For me Friday nights are never complete without a cocktail or two and even better when your celebrating a friends new job! We started the evening at Dirty Martini and then made our way over to The Alchemist. This bar is so much fun and a cocktail menu that could take you all night to read! Of course, I wanted something a little different so went for 'The Bubblebath'. I've no idea what they put in it to make it bubble up but it was like drinking sherbet so I was happy!

My last but definitely not least adventure of the month was a trip to Horley for Tulley's Shocktober Fest with the uni gals. Truth be told I'm a bit of a scaredy cat so I was a little nervous about going to a Halloween night with live actors!! It's a little early, I know but it was the only weekend we could all get together. All the 'haunts' are different and you have to walk around them in small groups, I won't give too much away but it was absolutely terrifying! I pulled the short straw and had to lead us through the first one which was the scariest in the park. It was one way to get the adrenaline pumping that's for sure! Such a great night though and if you're local to the area get some friends together and head down.

After exhausting ourselves with all the screaming and jumping a Sunday roast was very much needed the next day. Becky took us to The Foxed Revived and what a feast we got! I had the roast chicken with the biggest yorkshire pudding you have ever seen! Genuinely was the size of my face. It was a tough choice when it came to dessert but the creme brulee was on point! A great way to end my September adventures, I'm looking forward to see what October has in store.
