My July Adventures in London

July has come and gone in a flash, it doesn't seem possible we're already half way through the year and summer is almost over! I've been flat out studying but have made some time this month to have some fun and get away from my desk!

My first adventure of the month was to celebrate a very close friend's birthday at Aster, in Victoria, for bottomless brunch. The food and company was the best! Three courses and endless prosecco, what more could you want on a Saturday afternoon! I went for eggs benedict, sea bream with potato salad and finished with an 'Aster mess', all very, very yummy! I'd highly recommend this place, great service and the decor is gorgeous. The brunch menu changes on a regular basis so looks like I'll have to go back to try the rest!

Not only did we venture out for brunch, the birthday celebrations extended into the following week with a night out in Soho (it was even a school night!) First stop was for food, this time at Bibimbap. I have been here a couple of times before so not quite a new adventure but I opted for something new from the menu so it kind of counts... I had the the spicy pork with a raw egg. The bowls are sizzling hot so once you get mixing it all the egg cooks in minutes. Top tip, keep moving the food around so it doesn't stick or burn your tongue!

After filling ourselves to the brim we headed to Soho Theatre to see Lady Rizo. This woman is absolutely incredible; funny, glamorous and a voice that blows you away! I could listen to her sing for hours. We enjoyed a bottle of bubbly whilst watching the show and got to catch up with the Lady herself afterwards. If you get the opportunity it's not to be missed!

You guessed it, my final adventure of the month involved more food! I've not been very good at making time to catch up with friends, studying has well and truly taken over my life. However, I did manage to squeeze a couple of hours in to visit my favourite pancake house, My Old Dutch, and have a good old chin wag with a few friends. Their menu is huge with both savoury and sweet pancakes to choose from, you can even build your own if you like. An all time favourite of mine is the eggs Florentine, spinach, eggs and cheese all on a pancake!!

Well that's me done for July. I've got another crazy busy month ahead but hoping things will ease off in September and I can really start exploring again.
