My November Adventures in London

So last month was a quiet one on the London front but this month has been packed with all things fun and food! I'm trying to make the most of these last couple of months before I head back to the countryside.

Adventure number one was a trip to Bad Egg for brunch. This is a lively venue so if you're looking for a chilled and peaceful afternoon this is not the one. That being said the food and service was brilliant. I had been feeling a little under the weather so, unlike me, I stuck to the virgin brunch rather than going bottomless. There was a great choice of soft drinks though and you could switch between them which you often can't do. I went for the macanchini (mac & cheese balls) and french toast topped with bacon and maple syrup. Definitely not the healthiest option but so yummy! A good spot for an afternoon out with friends.

Adventure number two was a lovely evening spent at the Swiss restaurant St Morizt for a friend's birthday. The restaurant is authentic and cosy, spaces are limited so booking is a must. I've never been for fondue before so wasn't really sure what to expect. There were various options to choose from and we opted for the classic dish with bread to dip. As you can see from the picture, we were not short on cheese and the bread was limitless. I love my cheese but I did find it a little much with nothing else to accompany the meal. That being said it's a great experience and something to have checked off the bucket list!

November is always a fun month as I get to celebrate my birthday and this year was no different. I spent my actual birthday weekend back in Norfolk with all my nearest and dearest but the celebrations didn't end there. The following week I headed to Martello Hall in London Fields for a boozy brunch with more of my wonderful friends.

This place did not disappoint! We were very well looked after and the food and drinks were delicious! The table was stocked up with bottomless drinks of mimosas, rum punch and frizzante, which we definitely made the most of! I was spoilt for choice when it came to food but eventually decided on 'The Big Bacon Sandwich' with triple cooked chips. Quite possibly the best bacon sandwich I've ever had! Bold statement I know. We spent the rest of the afternoon chilling in their lounge upstairs before carrying my rather drunk self home to sleep it all off. Another fabulous birthday to remember! Here's to being 27!

Next month will be my final installment of 'My London Adventures'. I'm not quite sure where this year has gone! Stay tuned to find out what's in store, there's a little magic to come....
