Are you a snacker like me?

Definition of a snacker: a person who snacks or eats between main meals. That’s me. When it comes to eating I’m a bit of a grazer, I find myself eating little and often, especially when I’m at work all day and on the go. I find it helps me to maintain my energy levels throughout the day and quite simply I love food so I’m always eating!
As a Personal Trainer I often get asked what’s the best ‘healthy’ snacks to have. Firstly, I’d like to mention here that I’m not a nutritionist and I’m not qualified to give food plans and dietary advise. However, I can give you my recommendation and a few ideas. I’d also like to point out that what we should try to start to think about is the terminology that we are using. Rather than referring to something as ‘healthy’ or ‘unhealthy’ or a ‘treat’, what about more or less nutritious? Or simply just food? How certain foods fuel our bodies are very different but that doesn’t mean to say things like chocolate, crisps and biscuits can’t be enjoyed too.
That being said I am mindful of the snacks I eat and the portion size of my snacks. They’re not main meals just fillers in between and part of well balanced nutritious meals throughout the day. I don’t restrict myself on anything, that way I don’t crave things too much and end up binging. If I fancy some chocolate, I’ll have some. If I fancy some crisps, I’ll have some. I’ve put together a list below of a few of my go to snacks both sweet and savoury. I’ve got quite the sweet tooth so you’ll find there’s a few more there. I hope these can provide a little inspiration for you and any questions just get in touch.
