Breakfast Oats so Smoothie!

As you've probably seen from my Instagram posts recently I've changed my training up a little bit to include at least one morning workout a week before I head to work. I've found my evenings have been running away with me and I've had very little time to myself in the week to actually relax or doing anything other than go to the gym. Don't get me wrong I love spending the time at the gym but this way I get the best of both worlds.

Getting up at 6am to head to the gym hasn't been the easiest especially as it's so cold and dark outside but once I'm out the door the fresh air tends to do the trick in waking me up. I've been going to spin classes which I'm finding to be such an energetic way to start my day. There's something very rewarding about working up a serious sweat before most people have got to work! The key to early mornings is preparation. I whip up the recipe below the night before and pop in the fridge ready to grab and go. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Ingredients

2 large scoops of rolled oats (any kind will do)
1 large handful of frozen berries
1 tsp cacao nibs
1 scoop of protein powder (I'm currently using MyProtein's White Chocolate)
Almond milk

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients to your nutribullet or equivalent
  2. Blend until smooth. You can vary the amount of almond milk you use depending on how thick you like your smoothie. I usually top mine up to make 300ml of deliciousness!
