Green Smoothie Recipe

I've tried various different combinations of ingredients over the last year to create that perfect green smoothie that doesn't feel like you're drinking soil. Lets face it we like the idea of filling our body with all the good stuff but nobody wants to drink something that tastes like it should be used on your Dad's allotment.

I've found the key to a delicious smoothie is to keep it simple. Selecting a few nutritious ingredients and switching up the odd ingredient when you fancy a change. I usually change the type of fruit I use throwing in apple or mango instead of pineapple.

What I love about this recipe is that it's affordable and doesn't produce any waste. I've fallen victim to stocking up on lots of fruit and veg with the intentions of making a new smoothie for everyday of the week only to find half of it has gone off by the time you get to Friday. With these key ingredients you can prepare them in advance and freeze them so it's ready to go when you are. If you're feeling super prepared you can make your smoothie the night before pop it in the fridge overnight so you can grab and go in the morning.

Ingredients

Kale - 2 handfuls
Spinach - 1 handful
Frozen Pineapple - 3/4 large chunks
Spirulina - 1 tsp
Green Tea - 1 mug cooled

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients to your blender. (I use either my nutribullet or Breville blender)
  2. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
